The Frank and Van Pels families went into hiding for 25 months in a secret annexe in the Anne Frank House (Anne Frank Huise). Their daughter, Anne, kept a diary during the ordeal, detailing a harrowing tale of their life in hiding. The family were betrayed in 1944 and sent to a concentration camp, where they were subsequently killed. Anne was only 15 years old. Over 900,000 people visit this museum every year, where you can learn more about the family’s story and take a tour of the house, including its secret living areas.
