SAN DIEGO TO SEATTLE

 

We head to the bohemian shores of California to take an inspirational road trip from SAN DIEGO TO SEATTLE with our friends, Lola James Harper.

 
 

We are Lola James Harper, we record folk and rock songs, we take too many pictures and we have created 18 fragrances of the places we love the most around the globe … 
Last summer we went by car from San Diego to Seattle, cruising, playing basketball, recording and enjoying the sun … here is a taste of it…

 

SAN DIEGO...

 

relax… everybody is cruising, surfing, skating, biking, walking with a sound machine on...
body boarding is great there… 
in San Diego, we enjoy the smell of Monoi and love playing the Beach Boys...

 
 

SANTA MONICA...

the Muscle Beach, the skate park at Venice, the long cruising road along the beach, the street basketball courts, the fun fair on the pier, Dog Town coffee shop, the amazing sea side motel... we love it all...
we recorded 6 songs at 4th Street recording studio... the Beach Boys recorded there a few decades ago... in Santa Monica we enjoy the smell of cedar wood and love playing Hanni el Khatib...

 

SANTA BARBARA ...

the best spot to watch the skaters just next to the beach while eating a pizza & sun tanning... 
in Santa Barbara we enjoy the smell of bread and love playing the Red Hot Chilli Peppers...

 

PALM SPRINGS...

110°F and a swimming pool... Thursday night is local market night...
all Palm Springs turns into a local fair where we ate our best meat sandwich ever!!!
In Palm Springs we enjoy the smell of thyme and love playing Neil Young...

 
 

JOSHUA TREES...

why travel to space when we have the Joshua Trees just there… with its science fiction scenery… rocks piling up to the sky and dancing cactus all around…leaving enough space in between to be at ease for the dance… In Joshua Trees Park we enjoy the smell of green tea and love playing Anouard Brahem…

LAS VEGAS...

too much is too much or too much is not enough?
In Las Vegas you just don’t know anymore… 
in Las Vegas we enjoy the smell of candies and
can’t really play any music because too many
things are going on there…

 

SAN FRANCISCO...

we love the Mission area, its streets, basketball courts, organic supermarkets, coffee shops and pizzerias...
in San Francisco we enjoy the smell of lemons and love playing The Doors...

 
 

SAUSALITO...

the Town of Light... between rain, sun and fog... playing with the hills... up and down through houses of love...
in Sausalito, we enjoy the smell of apples and enjoy playing Joni Mitchell...

 

THE REDWOODS...

the Avenue of the Giants just gives you the feeling of being surrounded by dinosaurs, so big, so old, so quiet...
in the Redwoods we enjoy the smell of fern and love playing Joan Orborne...

 

SEATTLE...

the city by the sea, evergreen state, where rain is good and people are nice... EMP is an amazing rock museum, the best we know... Jimi Hendrix, Subpop and Nirvana are locals here... the pumpkin pie at Pike Place is just heavenly... every morning at 7 we would go to Cinnamon Works, the nice local bakery with a nice guy always welcoming us and remembering us year after year...
we recorded 3 songs at Orbit audio studio with Joe...
in Seattle we enjoy the smell of cinnamon and love playing Jimi Hendrix...
